How I Manage To Do It All As An Entrepreneur

How I Manage It All As An Entrepreneur

How to Manage It All: Relationships, Career, Self-Care, And Living A Balanced-Lifestyle

It seems there is never enough time in the day to complete everything on your to-do list and having it all. No matter how passionate you are something or someone, it is like you have to give something up in the process to keep it afloat. And usually, it is yourself, neglecting your emotional and physical needs.

Time management is vastly under practiced, causing huge amounts of stress on today’s entrepreneurial woman. But, we are here to tell you it doesn’t have to be this way. You don’t have to choose between yourself and your clients, or your significant other and your friends.

So at this point, you may be wondering how can you maintain life balance when the guy you’re dating needs your attention, a client from yesterday is emailing you for an emergency phone call, and you have yet to take twenty minutes for yourself to go to the gym. Oh and what about dinner, do you even have time to cook a healthy meal or pick-up something that meets your food sensitivities?

We are here to tell you, you can have it all without neglecting a part of your wants and needs. Now, it might take a little planning but the sooner you create a schedule, you will be thriving from it in no time at all. And you’ll be able to have plenty of time to get ready for your date without whipping your hair back and forth in your face while running about your home because you have ten minutes to yourself.

Here Is How I Maintain A Balanced Lifestyle Without Giving Something Up:

1.Schedule Personal Appointments With Yourself

Scheduling personal appointments may seem a little excessive or absurd, but this is going to help you establish yourself as a priority while keeping everyone else happy, too. Because if you don’t take care of you, then the rest of your personal and professional relationships will begin to suffer as you are the catalyst to helping maintain peace in your connections.

The relationship you have with yourself is essential to creating healthy relationships and the lifestyle you desire. By making yourself a priority in your day, this will help you have control over your emotions and life decisions. Because the last thing you want to do is get in an argument with your partner or client because you are emotionally depleted from working twelve hours with no time to spare.

Each day, we recommend scheduling appointments for self-care and self-love. Both of these are vital to staying emotionally and physically fit. And, if that means getting up an hour early to take a workout class at the gym or taking a thirty-minute lunch break to eat while you meditate, schedule the time by making an appointment with yourself.

Also, when you schedule an appointment, set a reminder to help hold you accountable. And consider adding some excitement to your task with a goal in mind or personal message to motivate you. Before long you’ll notice your confidence will start to rise as you grow and overcome self-neglect. The purpose of creating appointments stimulates positive habits and elevates your life to the next level. Not only will your relationship with yourself remain fulfilled, but all your relationships will remain healthy too.

An appointment with yourself is the catalyst to your success in life.

2.Create Routine For Success

We know routine can seem mundane every day of the week, but this is what will keep your wellness plan at the forefront while increasing your potential to succeed. This does not mean you cannot add a little twist on the weekends to keep things fun and interesting, yet routine allows you to keep personal commitments.

Having a routine will give you the ability to accomplish more throughout your day because you value and protect your time. When implementing time management, waking up and going to bed at the same time every day is the easiest way to begin a healthy routine. This gets you on a good sleep schedule helping you rest your mind and body when you need it most to maintain it all. As studies show, to reach personal and professional goals we need an adequate amount of sleep to prevent exhaustion and deterioration.

And maybe you cannot get exercise every day and that is okay, but getting on a routine of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday’s help structure consistency (or whichever days work best for you). The more you are consistent, the better results you will see in a quicker amount of time with anything you create in your routine. Plus, you do not have to think each week when you are going to work out. You already know, which leaves you more time to implement your next task, like doing laundry, grocery shopping, or plan social gatherings.

Speaking of social time, it’s important to schedule time with friends when it works for both of you. If you cannot see your friends every week, there is no need to mentally beat yourself and feel like you are neglecting the friendship. Friends who truly love and support you will understand you may have to skip a week or two because you have work commitments or family matters.

As for your love life, establishing a date night once a week will keep your relationship a priority and ease your mind. This eliminates the guessing game of when you will see him or when the two you can have some quality time. Or if you live together, this keeps your relationship exciting outside of the nightly hangouts of watching a show, cooking dinner together, or independently working on your professional goals.

There’s no perfect routine, but strive to establish a routine that sets you up for success.

3.Prepare To Make Sacrifices For Opportunity

Life will take you on an unforgettable journey but it will cost you sacrifices to attract your greatest opportunities and accomplishments. As much as you want to meet all your needs at once, you will need to be flexible because there is only one of you. Of course, you can have it all, but finding the balance and resilience of when you can have it will help support an optimistic mindset.

At times, you may need to give more attention to your business or partner than your friends. Or perhaps you need to dedicate more one on one time with a girlfriend who needs your support while going through a break-up. Life will never be 100% balanced, but delegating where you need to focus your time each day will be important.

There may be family celebrations you miss because you have work obligations. Or you may skip out on an acquaintance’s wedding because your partner asked you to join their business trip prior to receiving the wedding invitation. You may even decline an invite to a weekend getaway with your partner because you have a deadline for a work goal that you must meet the same weekend he asked. Depending on your goal, you may miss out on other opportunities because they are not aligned with your prior commitments.

Here are a few other examples:

  1. If you want to lose weight, you may have to skip happy hour with colleagues.

  2. If you want to attract more ideal clients or build a new company, you may have to give up watching television, hanging out on social media or spending time with friends.

  3. If you want to build a healthy relationship, you may need to dedicate more time to your love life and work less in the evenings.

  4. If you want to travel more for life experience, you may have to give up luxury spa services so you have the financial means to live as a digital nomad.

  5. If you want to see your family more, you may need to give up some of your personal travel time so you can see them more frequently, not just over the holidays.

All in all, what are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve what you really want?

4.Avoid Procrastination As It Will Eat Up More Time

This may seem counterintuitive but the more you procrastinate doing a task, the longer it will take you to do it when you finally decide. You will have created negative energy around it, which will cause you to actually dread the whole process and end up eating more precious time you could have had for yourself on the things you really want to do.

If the task takes only five to ten minutes to do, then why not do it and get it over with right then and there? This allows you to check one thing off your to-do list and reserve your energy for things that are special and more memorable. And we get it, not everything in life is fun to do, but how you think and feel about the task will definitely amplify how you complete it. If you see it as a quick task, you’ll get done and can move on. If you see it as an awful task, you’ll spend more time thinking about then the actual task even takes to complete.

When you perform the tasks right away, you immediately feel more productive and gain confidence. Not only that, but you also will feel emotionally in control you are getting it out of the way and trusting yourself to make healthy decisions. Once again, this sets you up for success because you are on top of your game and making life easier. You no longer have to sit and ponder about when you are going to do something. Instead, you will be able to have time to get a spa appointment or relax for an evening without worry.

Time is our most valuable asset that cannot be replaced. Once the time passes by it is gone and the opportunity is lost. The more you value your time, you will find yourself meeting your needs and achieving the goals you want. As you learn to implement time management, you will notice how much more positive you feel and your friends or clients will notice. Remember it is your life, but choosing how you spend your time will help you create the lifestyle you desire, bring more meaning to your relationships, and run your business like a well-oiled machine. The sooner you prioritize what is important to you, you will benefit in the end.
